MassNAELA Annual Meeting

Thursday, December 11, 2025

Embassy Suites Waltham, 550 Winter St., Waltham, MA 02451

***This event is IN-PERSON only.***

Join us for the 2025 MassNAELA Annual Meeting. Our final meeting of 2025 is our only dinner meeting of the year that is entirely in-person. It is a chance to highlight the collegiality and collective wisdom of our chapter. If you have not attended a MassNAELA event in person this year, our annual meeting is a “must.” Come meet fellow members, consult with colleagues old and new, understand the latest legal developments that affect our clients, and learn about the many valuable services offered by related vendors. Once you register, you are free to join us at any time throughout the day (see schedule below). Our meeting will conclude with a keynote presentation from two speakers that you will not want to miss:

  • Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court, Brian Dunnwho will be discussing his top priorities and key insights for improving the probate and family court system, including opportunities for bar-bench collaboration.
  • Chief Operating Officer of MassHealth, Elizabeth LaMontagne, who will be discussing (1) the impacts of the federal Medicaid cuts on MassHealth, (2) the implementation of different initiatives in 2026, and (3) tips and tricks when filing MassHealth applications.

Schedule of the Day

(Join us for part of the day or the whole day!)

NEW THIS YEAR: UnProgram (12:30PM - 2:30PM)

MassNAELA members only

At the UnProgram there are no materials and no presentations; instead, there are ample opportunities to discuss a variety of topics with other MassNAELA members in a small group, informal setting. Although the event is open to all questions and topics, this year we will include a focus on Practice Management issues such as succession planning, legal software/technology, and MassNAELA resources to help your practice.

Public Policy/Advocacy Meeting (2:30PM - 4:00PM)

MassNAELA members only

Join our lobbyist, Nomita Ganguly, and MassNAELA’s Advocacy Steering Committee to discuss the latest developments in elder and special needs law. This free-flowing discussion will give members an opportunity to share feedback with leadership, while also receiving important updates.

Vendor Fair and Registration for Dinner and Keynote (4:30PM - 6:00PM)

Open to members and guests

When clients ask you for suggestions for a resource, like a pooled trust, reverse mortgage company, corporate trustee, or independent living facility, who do you recommend?  Add to your roster - come meet a selection of vendors that provide the services our clients need. In addition, any members that visit all of the vendors will be entered in a raffle to win a $250 gift card. Don’t forget your business cards!

Dinner and Awards (6:00PM - 7:00PM)

Open to members and guests

Our raffle winners will be announced. We will present our annual awards to well-deserving community partners as well as MassNAELA members, and we will have a brief presentation from NAELA Incoming President, Marielle Hazen.

Keynote Program (7:00PM - 8:30PM)

Open to members and guests

We are delighted to be joined by Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court, Brian Dunn and Chief Operating Officer of MassHealth, Elizabeth LaMontagne who will share important information regarding their respective organizations.
