This program will cover all aspects of MassHealth that someone new to elder law, or a paralegal working in this area can expect to encounter. The following topics will be discussed:

Types of MassHealth coverage including eligibility requirements for various programs
Irrevocable Trusts
Advanced planning (gifting, life estates)
Emergency planning (spenddowns, asset conversions, caretaker child, caregiver contracts, spousal protections)
The application process and supporting documents
Fair hearings and 30A appeals
Post application issues (liens, spousal transfers, hardship waivers, eligibility reviews, estate recovery)
